What Is Transactional Analysis (TA)?

TA is a theory of personality, a practical educational psychology, a method of analyzing systems and organizations, a tool in management and communications training, and a systematic psychotherapy for personal growth and personal change.

TA was developed by Eric Berne, M.D. It is outstanding in the depth of its theory and the wide variety of its applications. TA is practiced worldwide and has national organizations in most countries for training and certification. Over the past four decades, the theory has evolved to include applications to education, counselling, organizational, and psychotherapy.
